Office FAQ’s

Q: At what age should I start bringing my child to the dentist?

There is no reason why kids shouldn’t love coming to the dentist! The earlier they meet us, even for a quick hello and a ride in the chair, the sooner they can begin developing a positive relationship with the dentist. Usually, children have some teeth by age one and most of their teeth by age two. Decay can start within months of eruption and accidents can occur anytime. The Canadian Paediatric Society recommends that children start coming to the dentist between age one and two.

Q: Are you open evenings and weekends?

In addition to our regular business hours (9am to 4pm) we also offer after-work appointments on Wednesdays and are open on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. We are closed Sundays.

Q: What if I am having a dental emergency outside of business hours?

If you are having a dental emergency outside of our regular hours, please call the Dental Emergency Service at (416)485-7121 or click here to be connected with a dentist via email.

Q: Will you bill my insurance company directly?

Your insurance plan is a contract set up between you, your employer and the insurance company.  It is your responsibility to find out from your insurer the details of your coverage. If you bring a copy of your plan, we will be happy to work with you, taking your plan limits into consideration.

We are set up to bill your insurance company directly, but any percentage not covered by your policy will be your responsibility and due on the day of your appointment.

Q: Does your office do tooth whitening? Is it safe for my teeth?

Whitening agents have been used in dentistry for many years. We offer two choices at our office: one-day, in-office whitening or take-home custom trays which show significant results after 7-10 days of regular use. Some patients with root exposure notice sensitivity, but this can usually be managed, working with our dental team.

Q: In addition to general dentistry, what other services does your office provide?

Our office is pleased to offer the following services, should they be required:

  • Invisalign clear aligners (“invisible braces”) If the dentist determines that your oral health concerns can be addressed by Invisalign, we are able to provide this ground-breaking treatment, in-house.
  • Teeth Whitening (please see above) We offer two very effective whitening treatments, either in-office or take-home.
  • Oral Surgery When required, our office offers endodontic treatment (“root canals”), wisdom teeth removal, gum surgery, bone grafting and implants.

These services are provided by Dr. Savo Sardaro, his associate Dr. Mark Cicci, or we can provide referrals to established specialists in our area.

With flexible office hours and emergency services, we are readily available to treat your dental needs.
